Historically, the ATF/FTA has been unique in breaking down the hard-line categories between so-called “evangelicals” and so-called “ecumenicals” in Africa, in order to reflect more accurately the actual experience of the majority of African Christians.
The ATF/FTA has also succeeded in breaking through the Anglophone/Francophone/Lusophone divide by virtue of its vision, the bilingual capabilities of key members and a deliberate policy of trans-lingual interaction. Expansion into Arabic-speaking Africa is therefore a natural extension of this vision. The ATF continues to expand membership through study programmes, institutional development workshops and conferences.
